  Did not stay here in the rooms but had a few drinks at the bar.
  Location was beautiful but the pub needs a decent clean or refit.

  Did not stay at the villas, my wife and I visited for dinner. Looking at the Regatta Point Tavern's website, it shows an extensive menu at reasonable prices.
  
  When we arrived, we found that the menu was completely different from what they had on their website. It was much, MUCH smaller, and noticeably more expensive. I understand that menus change, but their current menu isn't posted anywhere online.
  
  We ordered a prawn cocktail for entree, then a chicken parmigiana and salt and pepper squid for mains. The prawn cocktail was ok, but then again it's hard to stuff that up.
  
  The parmigiana, on the other hand, was awful. It had clearly been microwaved instead of baked, and the bottom was completely soggy and the crumb fell apart nearly instantly. The chicken itself was soft and mushy.
  
  The salt and pepper squid was horrendous. Roughly 8-10 pieces of tiny battered squid had been tossed onto the plate. The seasoning was bland, too thick, and almost spongy. Once you got through the seasoning to the squid itself, it was just mush.
  
  Both the parmigiana and squid were served alongside bland, soggy, unseasoned chips, and a salad which was underdressed and had weirdly large chunks of tomato, capsicum and beetroot.
  
  Neither of us finished our meals, and left incredibly disappointed; especially for what cost us a total of nearly $90. It also took a weirdly long time for our food to come out, considering there were only a handful of people in the restaurant.
  
  When it comes to pub meals, we're generally pretty forgiving as it's supposed to be no-frills food that covers the basics. The Regatta Point Tavern's food fails to meet even these very low expectations.
  
  If I was in Strahan again and the Regatta Point Taven was my only option, I'd choose to go hungry.

  My family and I ate dinner here on January 2nd. Called ahead and was told they dont reserve tables and just turn up, we arrived around 6pm and got the last free table. The staff were friendly, the host was lovely and briefly chatted with us at our table.
  We ordered 2 kids nuggets, 1 kids snitzel with gravy, 1 pizza topped snitzel and 1 rissoles with bacon. They were busy so we did wait a bit, but we busied ourselves playing cards and had some drinks. There were some issues with our meals. We got served 2 kids snitzels and 1 nuggets with no gravy. These issues were fixed once we told them. I also ordered my pizza topped snitzel with no onion, it came with onion which i picked out myself. The saving grace was it was all delicious and large servings.

  Great establishment. Typical country pub meals. Yum. Great value. Fabulous service. Told them we were celebrating a birthday and lol and behold a pavlova turns up at the end of the meal. Vicki was a pure delight. Highly recommend.
